【摘要】:Thegeologiccharacteristicsandtheintendeduseoftherockcoresamplesdeterminetheextentandtypeofpreservationrequired.Ifengineeringpropertiesaretobedeterminedforthecore,itmustbehandledandpreservedinsuchawaythatthemeasuredpropertiesarenotsignificantlyinfluencedbymechanicaldamage,changesinchemistry,andenvironmentalconditionsofmoistureandtemperature,fromthetimethatthecoreisrecoveredfromthecoredrilluntiltestingisperformed.Drillcoreisalsothesamplerecordforthesubsurfacegeologyattheboreholelocation,andassuchmustbepreservedforsomeperiodoftime,insomecasesindefinitely,forfuturegeologicstudy.Thesepracticespresentaselectionofcuratorialrequirementswhichapplytothemajorityofprojects.Therequirementsaregivenforavarietyofrocktypesandprojecttypesrangingfromsmalltolargeandfromnoncriticaltocritical.Noncriticalprojectsarethoseinwhichfailureofanelementorthestructurewouldresultinnegligibleriskofinjuryandpropertyloss,whilethereisgreatrisktopropertyandlifeafterfailureofcriticalstructuresandprojects.Guidanceisgivenfortheselectionofthosespecificrequirementswhichshouldbefollowedforagivenproject.1.1Thesepracticescoverthepreservation,transportation,storage,cataloging,retrieval,andpost-testdispositionofrockcoresamplesobtainedfortestingpurposesandgeologicstudy.1.2Thesepracticesapplytobothhardandsoftrock,butexcludeiceandpermafrost.1.3Thesepracticesdonotapplytothosesituationsinwhichchangesinvolatilegascomponents,contaminationoftheporefluids,ormechanicalstressrelaxationaffecttheintendeduseforthecore.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.5Thispracticeoffersasetofinstructionforperformingoneormorespecificoperations.Thisdocumentcannotreplaceeducationorexperienceandshouldbeusedinconjunctionwithprofessionaljudgement.Notallaspectsofthispracticemaybeapplicableinallcircumstances.ThisASTMstandardisnotintendedtorepresentorreplacethestandardofcarebywhichtheadequacyofagivenprofessionalservicemustbejudged,norshouldthisdocumentbeappliedwithoutconsiderationofaproject''smanyuniqueaspects.Thewordx201C;Standardx201D;inthetitleofthisdocumentmeansonlythatthedocumenthasbeenapprovedthroughtheASTMconsensusprocess.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressthesafetyproblemsassociatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
